Gwen’s List of the Best Places to Eat Breakfast at Disney World
This is one of the best buffets I have ever been to, both for dinner and for breakfast, so of course, it made my best places to eat breakfast at Disney World list!
What’s great about this breakfast buffet is that it offers a a large amount of variety when it comes to options so everyone in your group will find something to satisfy and fill them up for a long day at the parks.
Where is Boma located?
Boma can be found on the lower level of Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Jambo House, not in the Animal Kingdom Park, so no park admission is needed to eat at this restaurant.
What is unique about this breakfast spot is that you have the choice of enjoying breakfast from their buffet or from their menu.
Have a look at both menus once you arrive (note that the buffet and the à la carte menu both change slightly now and then, based on what is seasonal and available).
Choose one or the other and you’ll be happy you chose The Wave to start your day because the food is delicious!
Where is the Wave… of America Flavors located?
This is another restaurant that will not require park admission. It’s located in Disney’s Contemporary Resort, very close to the Magic Kingdom.
If the BoardWalk Bakery isn’t too much of a trek for you, definitely give it a try one morning.
On the BoardWalk Bakery menu, you’ll find an assortment of breakfast sandwiches and irresistible breakfast pastries. They’ve just introduced some new breakfast sandwiches to their lineup, so you’ll probably find it hard to decide what to get!
If you’re looking for allergy friendly or special diet options (which are not currently listed on the online menu), be sure to speak with the staff as there will likely be an option for you.
The last time I was there, they had allergy-friendly, vegan treats from Erin McKenna’s Bakery in the refrigerator.
Where is the BoardWalk Bakery located?
Again, no park entry needed to dine here. You can find BoardWalk Bakery on the BoardWalk over at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Resort.
BONUS: Your Resort’s Restaurant (Quick Service)
Disney’s quick service locations also offer many snack items that can stand-in as a filling breakfast. The best part is that most of these snacks will cost you $5 or less! The best place to grab these items is at your resort’s quick service restaurant.
If you’re on the dining plan, dining plan snack credits can be used to buy “snacks” such as oatmeal with fresh fruit, pastries, toast, bagels, fruit cups, and more.
Rebecca’s List of the Best Places to Eat Breakfast at Disney World
If you are looking for a Disney World Breakfast Buffet AND a Disney World Character breakfast, Tusker House crosses both of those requests off your list. Add to the fact that it’s some of the best food we ate anywhere, and you’ll understand why it ended up on my list.
The menu is full of delicious flavours like curry and rice, mini donuts, and Mickey waffles. The corn bread is beyond description and may be some of the best we found in all of Disney World. Because it’s a buffet, we were able to enjoy all of our favourite bites again and again.
In addition to the yummy food, we love Donald’s safari themed outfit and he’s joined with his friends – Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy. The characters go from table to table so you can grab photos in between buffet runs.
If you are only planning one table service breakfast during your stay, this is the one I’d recommend.
Tip: Book your reservation well in advance for Tusker House – it books up quickly!
Where is Tusker House located?
Tusker House is located in Animal Kingdom, so park admission is required to dine here, so be sure to book reservations for your Animal Kingdom day!
I know, I know, it’s another Animal Kingdom reservation on the list, and maybe not the most adventurous, but our meal at Rainforest Cafe in Animal Kingdom was beyond tasty, even the coffee was excellent. We also liked being able to book early before the park even opened so that when we were done eating, we simply walked out into the park and were ready to explore.
What we didn’t expect was to be so well fed at the Rainforest Cafe that by the time lunch rolled around we were splitting quick services and barely able to eat much. This is a sign of great portions!
The kids enjoyed the Rainforest Cafe atmosphere with the lighting and animals that seemed to come to life, which makes it, in my opinion, one of the best places to eat breakfast at Disney World.
Where is Rainforest Cafe Animal Kingdom located?
The name says it all! It’s located in the Animal Kingdom but park admission is NOT required since the entrance to the restaurant is located before the main entrance to Animal Kingdom park.
Like Gwen, I agree that the quick service breakfasts at the resorts are really great because you can piece together quick service options and snacks to form complete, filling meals before heading to the parks. I have specified Port Orleans Riverside Resort because that’s the one I am most familiar with.
The bounty platters at the resort are Quick Service meals and come with scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon, pancakes or waffles and a biscuit.
Getting a couple of these, plus some oatmeal with berries and nuts ends up being a great breakfast and easy to share for the four of us. By combining snacks with quick service options, we save a couple quick service credits for other meals (when on the dining plan).
TIP: Remember, your Disney Mug is refillable at resorts, so we always keep a clean, empty mug with us to grab extra coffee in our travels! These are included with the Disney Dining Plan, but we think they are worth purchasing even if you aren’t on the plan.
Have you eaten at any of the places we’ve mentioned above? If so, what did you think?
